Not an instant solution - I've downloaded the svn book from http://svnbook.red-bean.com/ to see how we can use it. This site might also be of help soon http://www.svnforum.org/
I seriously think we should use it though - it promotes collaborative work on code and will make the database easy to look after as well - we will be able to back track on any changes (including restoring after security breaches if necessary)
