I now have a version of Pligg with two news columns.
To do that, I have copied every line of code between and and pasted it after the copied code, but before . I then went into the css style sheet and changed the leftcol width from 790 to 395 (see last two blog entries for details on location). Unfortunately, this has been applied to every relevant page, so I still need to track down the identifiers for the variables so I can figure out how to identify solely the index page, which I think is somewhere in the /libs folder, in a similar file to smarty_variables.php
